Fourth excavation campaign at the site of Seleucia on the Tigris

The fourth excavation campaign at the site of Seleucia on the Tigris, coordinated by CRAST and the University of Turin, has been concluded. The expedition, which lasted about two and a half months (20^th of September – 6^th of December), directed by Professors C. Lippolis and V. Messina, included the continuation of excavations in the sounding opened during the previous missions (Sector 1) and the opening of a new second sounding (Sector 2). Both sectors are located in the northern area of ​​the site, to the east of the northern agora, which has already been investigated by CRAST missions in last decades.
